Meet Laura Malandrino, APCC (15514)

Unpacking the layers of who you are takes courage.

Hello, I’m Laura. If you’ve spent years carrying emotions that feel too complex to name, patterns that seem impossible to break, or a quiet but persistent feeling that something is missing, I want you to know—you’re not alone. Therapy is a space to slow down, reflect, and make sense of what feels uncertain or out of reach.

My approach is rooted in Depth Psychotherapy, which means we go beyond symptom relief to explore the deeper layers of your experience—the unconscious influences that have shaped you, the narratives you’ve inherited, and the inner conflicts that keep you feeling stuck. Healing isn’t about forcing change or finding a quick fix. It’s about creating space to understand yourself fully, honor your experiences, and step into a more authentic way of being.

A Unique Perspective on Growth & Change

I grew up in Venezuela, a culture rich with warmth and resilience. But I also know what it’s like to navigate multiple identities and question where you belong. That experience shapes how I sit with my clients—whether they’re exploring cultural identity, high expectations, or inner conflicts they can’t quite name.

Before becoming a therapist, I studied human behavior, social research, and consumer decision-making, gaining insight into the unconscious forces that shape us. My background in photography also taught me to see beyond the surface—to notice the quiet emotions and deeper stories we carry.

Therapy, to me, is about witnessing. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Together, we’ll sit with difficult emotions, challenge the narratives that no longer serve you, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been forgotten.

Laura provides individual, couples, and group therapy via in-person and telehealth or online for California. APCC 15514.

Laura’s Approach

Therapy with me is not just about exploring the past—it’s about making sense of your present experience and creating space for a more fulfilling future. I work relationally, meaning our sessions will be a dialogue, not just an analysis. Together, we’ll notice patterns as they emerge, gently explore the emotions beneath them, and uncover what might be keeping you stuck.

Rather than focusing solely on immediate symptom relief, I help clients deepen their self-understanding, recognize unconscious beliefs that shape their relationships, and build emotional resilience. My approach is warm, engaged, and thoughtful—I meet you where you are while also encouraging you to stretch beyond familiar ways of thinking and being.

Depending on your needs, I draw from psychodynamic therapy, attachment-based therapy, relational psychotherapy, and existential therapy to guide our work. When addressing trauma, I integrate EMDR, a powerful tool for processing painful memories and restoring a sense of stability. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, perfectionism, relational wounds, or a major life transition, we’ll approach it together—thoughtfully, with curiosity and care.
