A private, out-of-network practice for thoughtful, high-caliber clinicians.
Are you a seasoned or gifted therapist seeking a stimulating, intellectually rigorous practice that values depth over volume? At Lisa Chen & Associates Therapy, we offer a selective, high-functioning caseload of professionals, creatives, and individuals seeking deeper meaning, fulfillment, and more authentic relationships—with themselves, their partners, and their families.
Why Join Us?
🔹 Elite Private Practice Setting – Work exclusively with engaged, motivated clients in a private-pay, out-of-network setting—free from the limitations of insurance-driven work.
🔹 Depth-Oriented, Psychodynamic Focus – Our practice operates from a psychodynamic and relational framework, prioritizing insight-driven, process-oriented therapy. Many of our clinicians are also trained in EMDR, and we expect associates to either have experience with or a strong interest in this modality.
🔹 Extensive Couples Therapy Work – A significant portion of our caseload includes couples therapy. Candidates should have experience with or a keen interest in modalities like Gottman Method, Imago, or EFT to support this aspect of our practice.
🔹Expert Mentorship & Collegiality – Supervision with Bob Northcutt, LMFT, a former Associate Clinical Director at Airport Marina Counseling Service and faculty at Pepperdine & Antioch. Bob brings expertise in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy, OCD ERP, ACT, and couples therapy (Imago & Gottman Method).
🔹 Thoughtful Work – Our practice fosters clinical excellence, emotional depth, and intellectual challenge, offering a space for skilled clinicians to refine their craft without burnout.
🔹 Autonomy with Support – Maintain a 20-client caseload with flexible in-person (Hermosa Beach) or remote options in a practice designed for independence, financial growth, and professional fulfillment.
We’re looking for clinicians who thrive in rich, meaningful therapeutic work, appreciate intellectual engagement, and seek a collaborative, non-corporate environment. If this resonates, we’d love to connect.
